Moms on the Rise (MoThR) Scholarship

The Moms on the Rise (MoThR) Scholarship gives two $550 awards each year to current or former teen mothers balancing parenting with school, with preference given to applicants from the five Columbia River Gorge counties — Wasco, Hood River, and Klickitat in Washington, and Sherman and Gilliam in Oregon — though it's open to students at any education level across Washington and Oregon more broadly. The application is an 800-1,000-word essay about the applicant's experience as a young mother, the challenges faced, and educational goals; the award is sent directly to the winner's school financial aid office. The next deadline is July 31, 2027 at 11:59 p.m.
