The Ford Family Foundation's Ford Scholars Program provides need-based awards of up to $40,000 per year -- calculated against cost of attendance, financial need, and other aid received -- to graduating Oregon high school seniors (plus Siskiyou County, CA) enrolling full-time on-campus at an Oregon or California college. There is no minimum GPA required; applicants must have a Student Aid Index of $8,000 or less and answer short essay questions about challenges overcome, contributions to family/community, and lessons from where they grew up. Up to 120 renewable scholarships are awarded each year, continuing annually up to cost of attendance as long as the student stays enrolled full-time.
DemographicsStudent Aid Index (SAI) must be $8,000 or less; priority to students facing significant financial and other barriers. Never enrolled full-time in college before.
Amount is calculated individually based on financial need, cost of attendance, and other scholarships/grants received; renews each year up to cost of attendance.
