Say Yes Syracuse is a last-dollar scholarship for graduates of Syracuse City School District and Syracuse charter high schools who lived in Syracuse throughout high school. It covers remaining tuition after federal, state, and institutional aid at SUNY/CUNY campuses (no income limit, up to 8 semesters at a 4-year school or 4 at a community college) or at private partner colleges for families earning $75,000 or less — Syracuse University and Cooper Union apply no income cap at all, while University of Rochester's cap is $100,000. Families above the $75,000 threshold may still qualify for a smaller Private College Choice Grant. You apply through Say Yes by July 1 after graduation, enroll full-time within a year, and keep at least a 2.0 GPA each semester.
DemographicsMust reside in Syracuse during high school and at graduation, and complete grades 10-12 (or 9-11 for early graduates) at a Syracuse City School District or Syracuse charter high school, with continuous enrollment (exceptions for McKinney-Vento, foster care, or refugee status).
Covers tuition after other aid at partner SUNY/CUNY (no income limit) and private colleges (family income under $75,000, with no cap at Syracuse University/Cooper Union and a $100,000 cap at University of Rochester), for up to 8 semesters at a 4-year school or 4 semesters at a community college; a smaller Private College Choice Grant may be available above the income threshold (amount not published).
