VMDAEC Education Scholarship Foundation Award

The VMDAEC Education Scholarship Foundation has awarded almost 800 scholarships totaling over $680,000 since 2001, including $165,000 to 92 seniors in 2026. To qualify, a parent or guardian's primary residence must be served by one of the association's 16 member electric cooperatives, and the applicant must be a high school or homeschool senior graduating in 2027 who is entering a post-secondary or trade program the following fall. Awards start at $1,500 and are judged 40% financial need, 40% academic achievement, and 20% personal statement; funds can go toward tuition, fees, room and board, or textbooks.
