Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union Scholarship

The Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union Scholarship Fund awards $1,000 scholarships annually, renewable for up to four years ($4,000 total), to the children, step-children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, or step-great-grandchildren of a SMART Transportation Division Auxiliary member in good standing for at least a year. Winners are chosen by random drawing among qualified applicants, who must be at least a high school senior, no older than 25, and maintain a 2.0 GPA to keep the award. Applications are accepted January 1 through March 31 each year; 18 scholarships were awarded for the 2026-27 school year.

Eligibility

DemographicsSponsor must be a SMART TD Auxiliary member in good standing for at least one year (as of March 31) and current on dues; nominees can be children, step-children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, or step-great-grandchildren, up to age 25.

Applying

$1,000/year, renewable up to four years ($4,000 total); at least 8 awarded annually per program rules, though recent cycles have awarded 13-18.
