Point Foundation is the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ+ and ally students. High school seniors can apply directly to two of its three undergraduate tracks: the Flagship Scholarship (need-based, renewable up to 4 years, for bachelor's/graduate/professional study, minimum 3.3 GPA, funding starts fall 2026) and the Community College Scholarship ($4,800 for fall 2026-spring 2027, minimum 2.5 GPA). A third track, the Access Scholarship ($1,500/term, minimum 2.0 GPA), requires the applicant to already be enrolled at least half-time in college, so it excludes current high schoolers. Both tracks require applicants to be at least a senior in high school and exclude students in 100%-online degree programs.
DemographicsFor LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) and ally students; applicants must show 'connection and commitment to the LGBTQ+ and ally community' (exact phrase from the official eligibility list). Students enrolled in 100%-online degree programs are ineligible. Must be attending an accredited, not-for-profit U.S. college/university.
Community College Scholarship is a fixed $4,800 for the academic year; the Flagship Scholarship award is based on individual financial need with no published cap, renewable up to 4 years of support. (The separate Access Scholarship, $1,500/term, is not open to current high schoolers.)
