Indy Achieves is a City of Indianapolis 'Promise'-style program that automatically covers the remaining gap between a Marion County resident's financial aid and the cost of tuition at IU Indianapolis or Ivy Tech Community College. There's no separate scholarship application — eligible students are identified and awarded through the college's own admissions and financial aid process. Scholars also get a dedicated success coach, goal-setting support, and a cohort community to help them stay enrolled and finish their credential. To keep the award, students must refile the FAFSA by April 15 each year, stay eligible for state financial aid, and complete at least 30 credit hours with satisfactory academic progress.
DemographicsMust be a Marion County (Indianapolis) resident who already qualifies for Indiana's 21st Century Scholars program or a Frank O'Bannon Grant, enrolling at IU Indianapolis or Ivy Tech Community College.
Covers whatever gap remains between financial aid and tuition/fees; no fixed dollar cap is published.
