The Carr P. Collins Scholars Program recognizes Texas high school seniors with strong academic records and demonstrated leadership. Recipients receive at least $6,000 their freshman year, renewable for three additional years, and join a cohort that completes community service each semester, attends program seminars, and mentors future Scholars. Selection is based on a resume, a 500-word handwritten essay on leadership and community impact, and a nomination from a teacher, counselor, or principal (professional recommenders may substitute for homeschooled applicants, though not parents).
