Hui South on Fort Shafter Scholarship (Honolulu, HI)

Hui South on Fort Shafter awards merit scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors, alongside adults returning to school, connected to an active-duty, reserve, retired military, or Department of Defense civilian family based in or assigned to Oahu South. Selection weighs scholastic merit and community involvement rather than financial need, and the committee reviews applications with identifying information removed. Winners submit a personal essay and two letters of recommendation, and funds are paid directly to the recipient's school for tuition, fees, books, or room and board.
