The UA Scholars Award recognizes Alaska high school students who finish in the top 10% of their class at the end of junior year — high schools nominate qualifying students automatically, so there's no essay or scholarship application to earn the honor itself. The $15,000 award pays out at $1,875 a semester (about $3,750 a year) for up to four years and can be used at University of Alaska Anchorage, Fairbanks, or Southeast. Recipients still have to apply for admission and activate the award before the deadline or it's forfeited permanently.
