The Arkansas Trucking Association's Carl Tapp Technician Scholarship helps pay for a two-semester (or longer) medium- or heavy-duty truck technician program at an Arkansas school. Any graduating senior from an accredited public, private, parochial, or vocational high school can apply — your high school doesn't have to be in Arkansas, only the training program does — and no family or employer connection to trucking is required. ATA doesn't publish a fixed award amount; the fund has distributed $120,000 total to 16 students since it started in 2017. The award is paid in two installments, and the second one requires proof of continued enrollment and at least a 2.8 GPA, so submit your official high school transcript with the application.
