Alan and Jane Handler Scholarship (University of Rochester)

The University of Rochester calls the Alan and Jane Handler Scholarship its leading undergraduate award. It's a permanently endowed, full-ride scholarship covering tuition, fees, housing, food, books, personal expenses, and transportation for the whole undergraduate program, along with access to individual and group enrichment opportunities. Recipients are chosen for academic excellence, leadership potential, and demonstrated ability navigating complex challenges, and must also show substantial financial need. Rather than a student-submitted application, it requires a nomination from a recommender who isn't related to the student; the university does not publish a fixed nomination deadline.
