The CollegeCounts Scholarship, run by the Office of the Alabama State Treasurer, gives a one-time award of $4,000 (four-year colleges) or $2,000 (two-year colleges) to Alabama resident high school seniors entering an eligible in-state college as first-time freshmen. Applicants need at least a 2.75 GPA, and four-year applicants need an ACT score of 29 or below; financial need is weighted most heavily, alongside GPA, activities, service, and honors. The award is split between the fall and spring semesters of the freshman year and does not renew.
$4,000 total for four-year enrollees, $2,000 for two-year enrollees; one-time, split across fall/spring.
