The Allegheny Mountain Section of the Air & Waste Management Association awards scholarships to high school seniors accepted full-time into a four- or five-year college program leading to a career in the environmental field (environmental science, environmental engineering, or environmental law). Applicants must live within the section's territory -- Pennsylvania west of the Susquehanna River, or West Virginia -- and attend or plan to attend a college in that area (this residency rule is waived for children or spouses of section members). A minimum 3.0 GPA, an essay, a resume, and a letter of recommendation are required; the award amount is not published on the section's site.
