AFAS Merit & Grit Scholarship

The Air & Space Forces Aid Society awards at least 20 Merit and Grit Scholarships of $5,000 each to incoming college freshmen who are dependent children of active-duty or retired Airmen and Guardians. Winners are chosen for outstanding academic potential based on GPA, or for demonstrating Grit in overcoming a specific challenge, judged from high school transcripts and a video essay. Consideration requires first completing the Society's Arnold Education Grant application, though receiving that need-based grant is not itself required.
