The Masonic Charities of Maryland Scholarship Program, run by the Grand Lodge of Maryland, distributes a $60,000 pool to graduating seniors at Maryland public high schools. You do not need any connection to the Masonic Fraternity to apply — the program explicitly welcomes any eligible student. Every finalist receives at least $500, and a handful of regional finalists receive $2,000, $3,000, or the top prize of $5,500. Applications open December 1 and are due April 1, and require a school official's letter plus a 300-500 word essay on your future goals.
DemographicsMust be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a graduating senior at a Maryland public high school; no connection to the Masonic Fraternity is required or considered.
