The Family Fellowship, run by the nonprofit Foster Love (formerly Together We Rise), provides up to $12,000 per year (up to $60,000 total over five years) toward tuition, books, school supplies, and a monthly housing allowance for students transitioning out of foster care. Applicants must be 18-24 years old, hold a high school diploma or GED, be U.S. citizens, and have spent at least 12 consecutive months in foster care by age 18, been adopted or placed in guardianship from foster care after age 13, or been orphaned for at least a year at 18. Applications require high school and college transcripts, proof of foster care status, a personal essay, and two letters of recommendation, with a committee interview for selected applicants. The program is currently closed and next scheduled to open in 2027; it has historically opened in March and closed in early May.
