Oregon Farm Bureau awards this statewide scholarship, administered through the Oregon Agricultural Education Foundation, to Oregon high school seniors (or Oregon homeschool graduates whose parent/grandparent is a voting Oregon Farm Bureau member) with at least a 3.0 GPA who plan to enroll full-time at a public or nonprofit college. Students majoring in agriculture or forestry may apply regardless of family Farm Bureau membership; students in any other major must be the child or grandchild of a voting Oregon Farm Bureau member. The application requires a transcript and three personal-statement essays, including one handwritten essay on how the applicant's course of study will impact Oregon agriculture or forestry. It can be renewed for up to four years by reapplying annually, and financial need is not a selection factor.
DemographicsAny major if a child/grandchild of a voting Oregon Farm Bureau member; otherwise must major in agriculture or forestry. Public/nonprofit colleges only; requires a 3.0 GPA and a handwritten personal-statement essay.
